Thank you for visiting Buttermilk Hill!
Buttermilk Hill is the name of a scenic rural road a few miles from our home. When my husband Tom and I decided we wanted to start a web site featuring unique products created by the craftspeople along Ohio's beautiful back roads, Buttermilk Hill just seemed like the perfect name... It captures the warm, country feeling of our area.
The small, family-owned businesses along our local roads are so very Ohio! The owners are friendly and personable. They know their frequent customers by name and greet all guests in their shops with a warm smile. Their time is spent creating their one-of-a-kind products and running their businesses, and many of them have told us that they don't have the time or inclination to delve into the world of e-commerce. Since Tom is a developer and I work with web sites and graphic design, we wanted to combine skills with these local business owners by using our talents to provide an online presence for them on the web.
We will have products from more of those local shops online soon. In the meantime, please stay and browse the handmade and vintage treasures that are currently available, and plan to return soon to see more.
